Alexander Ave artshow seeks to terrify the city

High art in the Bronx is going to be a bit creepier this year.

Several Bronxites are team put on show art tours of the city has seen. Visions of horror, a thematic exhibition Halloween featuring artists about nine will be open to all with a special ceremony on Wednesday, 3 November, the LDR Studio Gallery at 137 Alexander Avenue, suite 10.

The show is featured by studio owner Luis Rosado;Organizer and artist, Rich Rethorn Jerry Landi, filmmaker who has recently wonbest horror film for Krackoon at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival b.c ' is the second year, the three are associated to the issue.

"I've always been a fan of Halloween," says Rosado."It is one of my favorite day so I well, why not, since I am grown up and cannot go House to House, celebrate it by performing a few art, doing something cool is."

The show takes the whole fourth floor of the building and will feature several works of nine artists.

While the show will focus on traditional paint drawing and photography - Rosado is currently working on a photography show where someone seems to be cutting someone else into pieces - it is also the first time that audiovisual screens will be included in the exhibition.

Towards the rear of the Gallery, several shorts by Landi will be beplaying on loop constante.Les films are mainly from the experiences of special effects, animation stop motion and outtakes made during the filming of Krackoon, which is a raccoon who terrorizes a small Bronx neighborhood after ingesting accidentally a fatal amount of crack.

While it may be the first year that the film will be part of the show, Landi helped to organize the horror visions last year.

"In the course of the years Halloween has become a very safe holiday," said the native of Locust Point, Landi. "I think we should go back to the era where people were walking around like bloody corpses.Point around was to frighten, why we are going to bring that.»

Show year last featured the works of six artists and a few hundred people was the Prime Minister.Based on last year's response and interest for year this, organizers expect much more this year.

For the month of November, the pieces will be available for viewing at the galerie.Après some works show will be available for consultation by appointment.

For several months now Rethorn has been contacting artists make sure that they and their parts will be available for the spectacle.Il works also on several tables for the show - one involving a skeleton is electrocuted and the other a skeleton lieu of Norman Bates in psycho.

Some people may wonder what art and Halloween have to do with one another, but Rethorn is a surrealist painter in the city since 1984, said he doesn't know why there is no more performances on the Halloween theme.

"This is my favorite time of year," said Rethorn. "It is very focused on art and very creative does ' who can propose an idea for a costume just acting goofy and fun.
