Alice Cooper recalled step stab

02 July 2011Rate this articleAlice Cooper once accidentally stabbed himself with a sword on stage, but with the performance.

Alice cooper himself stabbed once on stage.

The "school Out" hitmaker is known for his dramatic stage performances and admits things go often wrong - although he refused to leave the misadventures disrupt the concert for fans.

He said: "overnight, I used a sword on stage and I stick it in the scene." I used a sword and went like that and went right through my leg and had just the other end.

"At the time where you have so much adrenaline on stage, I only really feel it - it hurt a little, but it was not as"Oh it's the worst thing ever"and me went like, ' well I am in the moment, it is in my leg, he leave '.".

At the time where you have so much adrenaline on stage I did not really feel it - it just evil, but he did not like, "Oh it's the worst thing ever" and I kind of is, "well I am in the moment, it is in my leg, he leave".

Alice admitted fans simply assumed that the accident was a part of the show, while his group were worried, but he managed to stem the flow of blood eventually himself.

He told BANG Showbiz: "the audience thought it was a hoax, the band knew that this is not a tip - the Group has gone,"Whhhat "?". Because every time I would move it sprayed a little.

"Then of course after the performances on and gone... adrenalines". Ouch! I took a bottle of whisky and I have paid it cauterized. »

Alice, 63, is used for injuring on stage and sometimes admits that it be days before it realizes the seriousness with which it has damaged himself.

He said: "every night something happens." I fell from the stage in Vancouver one night and broken my ribs on the right side and got back up and ended the show because you did not really feel right then.

"I had about twenty-eight points of stitches in my head and did not really feel that I have had a concussion until approximately the fourth song and all of a sudden I started see double." "When the performances you does not stop the show, what happens, you keep the show going."

Alice returned to England for its "Halloween night of fear" tour in October.

Tickets for six performances are available at www.livenation.co.uk.

Trial of Halloween for judge accused of corruption

A trial is scheduled for late October for a judge in Las Cruces, accused of corruption in a system of toll assumed for appointments to the judiciary.

Jury selection began on October 31 in the case against the State, judge of the Court of District of Michael Murphy. A planning order has been made in the case earlier this week.

Murphy pleaded not guilty to felony charges, including corruption and intimidation of a witness in May.

According to a report by the prosecution investigators, Murphy said a lawyer from Las Cruces in 2007 that she needed to make weekly payments in the form of campaign contributions and deliver them to a local politician for a visit of the Court of district by then Governor Bill Richardson.

Richardson denied that contributions to campaigns influenced his appointments to the judiciary.

The Chronic 2001

The Chronic 2001Despite the number of guests on hand, Dr. Dre's decade-/century-/millennium-ending sequel to The Chronic is, like its predecessor, less a stack of posse cuts and more an elegantly seamless work from West Coast hip-hop's premier auteur. Deliberately cinematic in everything from its mix of moods to dramatic musical surges, 2001 is Dre's assessment of the gangsta life in medium shots. No longer fully immersed in violence and random sex, yet aware of their attraction, he often lets his guests blow steam about whatever's on their minds. When he takes stock of gangbanging circa late '99, though, he drops his neutral tone; he even provides another half-joking but stern warning to protégé Eminem on "What's the Difference." Between his discovery of Slim Shady, visits from old pal Snoop Dogg, and, most of all, the masterful sound and flow of this CD, Dre should shut down all talk of his supposed irrelevance. --Rickey Wright

Halloween: PR Style! (Viewed: 1187)

Halloween is arrived at big step and this means that many of us must decide on a costume to wear. The best presentations are creation and ubiquitous original?the hacker and zombie costumes won?t fair Cup year after year ? if you feel as is costume in an imaginative costume this year, here's a unique idea costume: ? A professional PR!

Unfortunately, you cannot go to the nearest store Halloween at Indianapolis and find a pro PR costume. However, if there was an it might incorporate these elements in traditional costumes.

Shield Gladiator and sword: PR pros to fight for our clients to obtain better coverage. There is a saying that the pen is mightier than the sword, in which case the PR pros already have superior costume accessory.

Cape of Superman/Superwoman: PR pros must be great at what they do. Must be a brave person to wear a Cape, and some PR pros can certainly take off the coast.

Wand of Harry Potter Wizard: as assistants, we know how to get things in thin air. Give us an angle low history and we?ll the beef to the data.

Mark Zuckerberg mask: this mask reflects the importance of social media in public relations. You can print your own mask here: http://gawker.com/5650103/facebook-fright-our-mark-zuckerberg-halloween-mask

Pocket protector and nerdy glasses: Let?s the face. We?re Geeks! All successful PR pros share traits commonly associated with being a geek: 1) we?re to conduct research; (and 2). We love information analysis.

Jersey Shore hair styles: this year, "hot" costume is to dress as one of the members of the cast of MTV "Jersey Shore." PR pros, we must remain current on the latest news and trends - it is simply ?Situation? (pun intended). We be ?fresh to death! ?

Character of Rock Star: as the stars of rock, PR pros often work late nights, are able to engage a broad audience and, as the trash hotel rooms. Error - just kidding on the last time.

Additional accessories might include a large cup filled with coffee in one hand and a Blackberry or an iPhone in the other. Did any how you look at it, costume pro PR is definitely creative and accurate. Happy halloween!

LETTER? No order? Then how about a diversity festival and parade in the Netherlands?

My wife and I are extremely disappointed by recent vote of the municipal Council of Holland, which sends an inhospitable message around the world. Until then, we were praised the growing diversity and the acceptance by the community where we spent more and more time this decade.

One of three things will happen now:

First, as some are already suggesting: boycott Holland and its wonderful restaurants, shops, market and events. If our friends are welcome here, any more than we.

Second, and I think best: confuse the misanthropic knuckleheads with a show of love and fairness. Ignore their 5-4 vote and obtain all civic rights activists and friends to organize a "Two lips" festival and parade in the Netherlands. This coincided with the Tulip festival and prove that Holland is a city of brotherly love. Imagine the building during the parade of Halloween "adults only" Douglas and directed by the biggest civil rights party outside San Francisco here.

The third and by far the best possibility: the Holland City Council immediately reconsider and reverse its vote.

Review: Severin operating Bonanza! (US - DVD)

Severin Exploitation Bonanza!
When Bloody Birthday arrived in my mailbox (along with the other three films I’m covering here), I thought to myself, ‘Great, here’s one of a few generally liked North American, ‘80s era slashers I hadn’t slipped under my belt just yet’. I had not really read a lot pertaining to the plot of the film, apparently, because it’s totally not a slasher. Granted the film starts like another by the numbers post- Halloween stalk and slash, featuring strikingly similar characters and setting (though this time it’s actually meant to take place in California). But quickly enough (about 15 or 20 minutes) things take an abrupt turn into the similar, but different ‘evil kids’ subgenre, which is more interesting. In the end Bloody Birthday isn’t a slasher movie at all beyond the adult character traits, setting, and fact that sex equals death (the little monsters actually rack up a body count Jason Voorhees would envy, however). The slasher elements do create comparisons within the evil kid subgenre. If Who Can Kill a Child is the subgenre’s equivalent to The Birds, and The Devil Times Five is the subgenre’s equivalent to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, then Bloody Birthday is certainly the subgenre’s equivalent to Friday the 13th. It’s not as slimy, gritty or generally perverse as Devil Times Five, or as genuinely dramatic and horrifying as Who Can Kill a Child, but Bloody Birthday is a fun, politically incorrect little romp, and sets itself slightly apart from the pack by featuring another minor as a major protagonist (more often than not these things are aimed squarely at freaking out the adults in the audience by presenting the evil kids as ‘the other’). Some scenes feature real kinetic momentum, and director Ed Hunt has a good feel for shooting action on a miniscule budget (the junk yard car chase is quite good). Hunt also crafts a few clever suspense set-pieces (the climax verges on brilliant), but doesn’t really mange to raise any hackles. This films certainly has its heart in the right place, is occasionally funny (usually on purpose), features surprisingly strong performances, and an extended nude dance from Downtown Julie Brown.

Severin has done a decent job remastering this particular gem, though I’m not familiar with past releases and am unable to compare it to anything outside of basic expectations. The print is generally well scrubbed, featuring a few minor scuffs and scratches, and a fine grain mesh, but no major damage. Detail levels are actually pretty close to what I’d expect from a Blu-ray version of similar material, just lacking that extra bump of 1080p sharpness that would likely show in the form of cleaner edges in the backgrounds and finer grain size. Colours are decent, though inconsistent. The darkest scenes are definitely a problem, specifically the opening killing, which boils down to a series of light blue shapes moving throughout utter blackness. One real complaint though – on my set the film itself didn’t display at the appropriate 1.66:1, but 1.78:1, while the footage in the special features was set to the correct aspect ratio. Weird. The musical score is amusing in that it’s actually well produced and well written, yet so derivative John Williams and Bernard Herrmann’s estate probably should’ve received royalty checks. The two channel mono Dolby Digital sound is pretty weak and muffled overall. It’s often quite difficult to discern the dialogue, and sounds like the performances are being spoken through cheese cloth. The score comes off a bit better, but is also muffled, and bass heavy in all the wrong places. Extras include ‘Don’t Eat That Cake: An Interview with Lori Lethin’ (9:50), ‘A Brief History of Slasher Films’ (15:10), which is very similar to an extra on Lionsgate’s My Bloody Valentine release (and which proves how much Bloody Birthday isn’t actually a slasher), an audio interview with Director Ed Hunt (an ear-numbing 51:10, could’ve worked better as a commentary), and trailers.

Severin Exploitation Bonanza!

While driving the road into Sleazeville one might find oneself overwhelmed by the utter bleakness of Bill Lustig’s Maniac and Lucio Fulci’s New York Ripper. These curious, but sensitive types might want to visit the more ‘fun’ side of town, where Juan Piquer Simón’s Pieces is shown on loop next door to John Lamond’s Aussie-flavoured blood bath Nightmares. Also known as Stage Fright, not to be confused with Michele Soavi’s similar and better Stage Fright (itself aka: Aquarius), or Romano Scavolini’s center of Sleazeville grotesquery Nightmare (aka: Nightmares in a Damaged Brain), Nightmares is among the more sexually explicit and generally naughty stalk and kill movies ever made, due in part to Lamond’s softcore smut pedigree. This tale of a genophobic actress and her misadventures while starring in a local play has a reputation for graphic gore as well, but the real messy stuff is mostly left to our imaginations in the form of blood smears on nekkid flesh. It’s certainly violent, disturbingly so at times, but there aren’t any spilled entrails, gouged eyeballs or spurting arteries, just consistently wet flesh wounds. Consistently wet flesh wounds set against fully frontally nekkid flesh.

Nightmares, like Stage Fright,   Pieces and New York Ripper, took a great deal of its inspiration from Italian Gialli, rather than the still budding slasher genre, but the feel of the film is closer to straight, American-born slasher, especially in terms of the killer’s ‘sex equals death’ motivation (technically it was released the same year as Friday the 13th, negating any real influence either way). For the most part the film is properly endowed in all the right places (splattering blood, T&A), but also strikes all the wrong chords with just as much aggression, which really makes the difference. The acting is all over the place (ironically enough the lead is a terrible actress in real life too), the dialogue is howl-worthy (quite often on purpose – the backstage culture aspects are very well done), and the editing is abrupt and spotty, yet the pace keeps things moving. The best ‘bad’ aspect is the laughable plot, which like most Gialli, is built around the mystery of the killer’s identity, and his or her motivations. In this case the writers make the mistake of sticking the motivation right up front, then explicitly name the character dealing with it – Helen: the main character. The murders are filmed using subjective camera views to cover the identity of the murder, but then, just to make sure we aren’t confused by this, Helen repeatedly flashes back to scenes from the stalk and slash moments. The cops have a few red herring suspects, but there’s absolutely no reason for the audience to agree with them. In the end Helen is, spoiler alert, revealed to be the killer, and the reveal is played like a shock. Delightful.

Despite its vile reputation, Nightmares is actually quite the classy picture on technical levels. It was filmed using Panavision anamorphic stock, and Lamond injects as much art into his framing as he can muster. The Halloween and Dario Argento influences loom heavily in the compositions. This transfer is very similar to the AU R4 PAL disc, though I think I’d give that disc a slight edge in terms of clarity. The details and edges here are a bit mushy. Colour and utter blackness both play vital roles (as any good Argento rip-off should have it), and are pretty well represented, though I did notice more compression noise on the solid hues than I’m used to for the type. The box art claims the film was mastered from the vault material like Bloody Birthday and The Baby, but I’m a little disappointed by the degree of dirt and other artefacts present here. The film also features a tactful, better-than-it-deserves Brian May score, though it seems that the much in demand composer was only available for a single elongated cue, which is played ad nauseum during every stalking, killing and nightmare sequence. The Dolby Digital mono soundtrack isn’t exactly demo worthy, but is clear enough to understand at all times, despite a little muffling. Extras include a relatively amusing commentary with director John Lamond and Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation (the documentary that features the film) director Mark Hartley (Lamond kind of sounds like he’s on the verge of death), the same ‘Brief History of Slasher Films’ (15:10), a John Lamond Trailer reel ( The ABCs of Love and Sex: Australian Style, Felicity, Pacific Banana, Breakfast in Paris and Sky Pirates), Nightmare’s trailer, and trailers for other Severin releases.

Severin Exploitation Bonanza!

Since you’re already spending the night in Sleazeville, why not take a day trip over to WTF Town. The Baby ranks very high on the cluttered weird-shit-o-meter, and even earns special consideration for the relatively mainstream system that birthed it. This bizarre tale of a social worker who takes special interest in a full grown man being treated as an infant by his pseudo-psychotic family wasn’t directed by some random Italian exploitation king looking to cash-in on Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, it was ushered into existence by Ted Post, the relatively talented director behind action heavy films like Hang ‘Em High, Beneath the Planet of the Apes and Magnum Force. It stars real actors including Ruth Roman ( Strangers on a Train), and ‘70s TV stars Marianna Hill, Anjanette Comer and Susanne Zenor, and they’re taking the production seriously. Perhaps the oddest thing is that The Baby is actually kind of good. At the very least it’s almost impossible to look away from the utter insanity. If you aren’t careful, you might even find yourself moved. The film is smart enough to keep up a campy façade, but the characters and plotting are straight-faced, which works both to make the comedic and disturbing bits hit with the same impact (and I’m 90% sure the big laughs are intended). Not content to rest on just an original exploitation concept, or even a solid execution, Post fills in the cracks with a little PG-rated T&A, garishly dated sets and wardrobes, and a jaw-dropper of a last minute reveal that gives the director a chance to flex his action movie muscles.

Of the three films discussed here I’d probably mark The Baby the highest for its anamorphic transfer. Like Bloody Birthday it’s comparable to many 1080p releases of similar films, just flatter and less sharp. Obscurity and age considered, this is a pretty clean transfer, with minimal compression artefacts, minor print damage, and solid detail levels. Colours are a bit on the yellow side, but the reds and greens of the party scene are quite expressive and vibrant. The Dolby Digital mono soundtrack is also pretty good. The sound is cleaner and less muffled than the other two films, with relatively sharp vocal performances (quite possibly the most disturbing thing about the entire film is the fact that Baby is overdubbed by an actual infant, though this seems to differ between prints) , and relatively warm music. Effects are quite minimal, but don’t feature a lot of crackle, and don’t spazz-out on high volume levels. Extras include ‘Tales from the Crib’ a phone interview with director Ted Post, set over scenes from the film (20:00), a phone interview with actor David Mooney (11:50), a trailer, and trailers for other Severin releases.

Sex and the supernatural join in the tale of teen book, small town

I don't think of a better first sentence for this review that the first sentence of "The beginners": "I was it y to my usual place behind the counter at the top hat Cafe, looking at, thinking about evil, dipping toast." " If the 15-year-old Ginger to attend its readers and start with this surprising juxtaposition of toast and evil, to launch his own arresting fate in this first atmospheric novel by Rebecca Wolff.

Plot of "The beginners" is, apparently, the one of our oldest stories - two foreigners come back to the city, and, in the scene following the dip this toast, Ginger tells us his first meeting with the Motherwells. ". Raquel and Theo are unusual in several ways: they are young, beautiful and made the unprecedented thing to move to the town of wick. Ginger would pay attention to the Motherwells even if the first words that it intends to say Raquel was a not compare the toast to a part of the anatomy of a witch.

The novel takes place shortly after the arrival of computers and fax machines and wick is a small town in the Central Massachusetts, although some few isolated, has almost everything he could need, including a library and a strip club. Unlike most of his classmates, Ginger tells us, she and her best friend, Cherry, aspire to leave the city. Ginger is a good student, an excellent employee and in love with reading - "something of Jane Austen,... whatever it is, moreover, that said novel on the cover." " His parents, both former actors aspiring, run the local printing and allow their only considerable latitude to child. But, as we gradually discover, Ginger was not always a single child. She used to have an elder brother, Jack - bright, kind, apparently full of promises. It has choked to death on his own vomit ginger Halloween to 11.

Except for the birth and occasional deaths, Wick life is deeply predictable. "We had chops of Lamb on the night," Ginger says, "and so I know we also have small green peas and mashed potato and Mint jelly". "." It is both attracted by the Motherwells and novelty and opportunities to escape that they seem to offer - an attraction has been intensified by the growing split between she and Cherry. Suddenly, Cherry, which is older than two years, will play no longer have their favorite imaginary and is interested in how Ginger boys finds boring despite his own ardent reading of the collection of pornography to his boss. She particularly enjoys a magazine called The starting, which includes Virgin real on their "introduction to sexual knowledge" letters. "

These chapters, Wolff skillfully maps the city and psyche of Ginger, replete with vivid details and prefiguring full of suspense. Wick is a place where witches once lived. And may still do so. He is haunted by his immediate death, but three drowned cities that (shades of the Quabbin Reservoir) were evacuated to the local reservoir. Diabetes even cherry - the vermilion drop of blood as she tests her blood glucose - contributes to the Gothic atmosphere of spells and fairy tales. Ginger, the top hat book, reliable employee seems drinking the potion she and Cherry used to try to. It becomes erratic, false and filled with intense sexual desires. During his frequent visits to the House of Motherwells, his sense of reality grows more in more confusing - is Theo attempts to kill Raquel? Raquel is pregnant? - and the border between the dream and waking all but disappears.

Much of this confusion is caused by the elusive, erotic Motherwells. The first Cherry and Ginger visited their home, Raquel offers a presentation on the birth control and describes how it allows to reach orgasm. And Theo, also seems to flirt with them, telling them that when he was age he "thought the Sun rose and set my own [behind]...." I waited to be intermediate of this concept for a long time. Do you think that you could help me, girls? "Blatant sexuality of the readers from Cherry couple. However, ginger, finds itself several hours in their company as the two are competing for his attention. They are also in competition by offering different versions of the past: Raquel claims that she and Theo met as graduate students. It gives a much darker version of their connection. Often they contradict their own stories: Raquel first said they settled in Wick by chance, and then later shows photographs of Ginger of his ancestors who lived in one of the cities drowned.

In the hands of a lesser writer, this feverish confusion could easily lead to the frustration of drive, but Wolff is an accomplished poet - "Manderly" was selected for the publication of the national series of poetry in 2001 - and his beautiful prose creates an attractive and full of suspense hall of mirrors. " We cannot always know exactly what is happening, but we still want to know what happens then. "reader," Ginger said us during the last pages, "don't ask me how I was raised to them. Gaps in my history are for the good of all. »

Catapult angry birds in Hollywood

The PPA to big screen: angry birds catapult in Hollywood
Albuquerque Express
Sunday July 3, 2011

YARDLEY, PA. -Skip Gittens fluctuated as a helicopter MOM in the basement of the Bucks County farmhouse last week that four volunteers tempered methodically long hair in a large tank of hot wax again and again until, slowly, long, white pure candles form.

Under the watchful eye of the Gittens, the enthusiastic crew turned 240 candles over the next two hours, but many others is necessary. At the end of August, Gittens has for purpose to 2,973 candles - one in the memory of each person killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Candles will help mark the 10th anniversary of this unforgettable day, a soft glow of casting service before September 10 in the garden of reflection, official Memorial of Pennsylvania to the victims. The cones also will be distributed at a ceremony at the lower Makefield garden the next day morning.

Gittens said that candles are symbolic emotions handle of this day and reflect the theme of the garden, "out of... light darkness."

"It's our job to remember victims and what has happened," says Gittens, 63, who is President of a company of gas turbines, Valley Enterprises, in Levittown and makes candles as a hobby in his basement Newtown Township.

The attacks severely hit Gittens - but not immediately. It took about a week for the enormity of flow and emotions to emerge, he said. "And then it was horrible," he recalled in the candle-making session last week.

Gittens has found it necessary to do something.

Up to four weeks after the attacks, he organized a commemorative ceremony at Newtown, on the same day, the bombs began to fall into Afghanistan. Each year since then, he has assisted service, Newtown or reflection Garden, where he serves as Director of plan.

But in his free time, candles are the cup of tea Gittens.

Since 1988, he was making them and giving them as gifts to friends, family, volunteers at other charity events, even just to meet people. Making candles for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, day of Saint Valentine, St. Patrick's day and day of mothers and in several styles and many fragrances.

It was therefore natural that Gittens, after the use of candles during the memorial service of 2002 in Newtown, would figure a way to use in the garden.

Sometimes he invites volunteers in his home to churn out the candles of feet long. Many of the volunteers were already active in the planning and fundraising for the garden, so it became a group very United.

"It is incredible the relations formed", Gittens said.

Friday, 720 candles had been completed.

"9/11 pulled people around together," said volunteer Mike Wire, 64, of the Township of Northampton, whose role was to clip the wick to separate each pair of candles.

Wire, a mechanic-Editor, spent three weeks at ground zero after the attacks, a blow of demolition. His brother, Frank, was there, too, but died in May 2007 of leukemia which Wire believes, was caused by exposure to benzene on site gas.

For cabling, taking part in the manufacture of candles is a way of commit to the memory of all this.

"It is difficult to remember things that make you feel bad," he said. "I won't forget it."

Ellen Saracini, whose husband, Victor, was one of the air line pilots killed in the attacks of the World Trade Center, and is Director of the garden, said the candles that adds a touch of elegance to the ceremony of this year.

And the gesture is typical Gittens, said.

"This is how it can contribute to a truly sustainable and affectionate remembrance ceremony," said Saracini, one of the volunteers of the manufacture of candles.

Saracini is also occupied with plans to build a wall of entrance to the garden in time for the celebrations of September. The events of this year also include a Ride of reflection, a tour of motorcycle 60 miles through Bucks County on 10 September that will end at the garden and the eighth 5 K run/walk annual, which will start and end at the garden, September 17.

Gittens said candles were a natural way for people to focus on the attacks.

"There are a lot of meaning, and yet it is very simple." "We are just honor the victims,", he said.

The Cosby Show - Season 2

The Cosby Show - Season 2An Emmy-winner for Outstanding Comedy Series its first year, The Cosby Show rapidly became to Thursday nights what The Wonderful World of Color and Bonanza were to Sundays in the 1960s: a family tradition. And the best was yet to come. Season 2 features some of this gold-standard series' benchmark episodes, most notably. "Happy Anniversary," the one in which the family honors Cliff's parents' wedding anniversary with a show-stopping lip-sync routine to Ray Charles's "Night Time Is the Right Time." In "Theo's Holiday," Theo (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) gets a taste of the real world when his family shows him what it takes to live on his own. The Emmy-winning "Full House" anticipates Seinfeld "nothing"-ness as an exhausted Cliff (Bill Cosby) wanders his home in search of peace and quiet.

In The Cosby Show's charmed world, race was beside the point. Cosby strove to address universal truths about parenthood. In this season's first episode, "First Day of School," adorable Rudy (Keisha Knight Pulliam) tells her father she doesn't want to return to school because a classmate called her "a name." Much like Cliff, the audience braces for the worst until it is revealed that she was teasingly called "Rudy Huckleberry." More to the show's point was fostering an appreciation of black heritage, history, and culture. In "The Card Game," Theo gives his girlfriend Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man to read. In "The Auction," Clair (Phylicia Rashad) bids on a painting by her great-uncle, artist Ellis Wilson, which used to hang in her grandmother's house. And in the stirring final moments in "Vanessa's Bad Grade," the entire family congregates in front of the television to watch Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech. From the first, The Cosby Show promoted education and fulfilling one's potential. In one of the season's very best episodes, "Mrs. Westlake," Theo's dread math teacher, a.k.a. "The Dragon Lady," (guest star Sonia Braga) comes to dinner. Fearing the worst from the strict teacher who has forced him to study harder, he is stunned not only by her transformed bombshell appearance but by the results of his math test, which he feared he failed. Love and respect for one's elders and each other thrive in the Huxtable household. In the Emmy-winning "Denise's Friend," Cliff and Clair hold a hilarious and heartwarming family meeting to assure their children that no matter what trouble they get into, they can always come to them. From Danny Kaye's delightful Emmy-nominated performance in "The Dentist" to Rudy's gridiron heroics in "Rudy Suits Up," season 2 is brimming with happy memories of TV's most functional family. --Donald Liebenson

The PPA to big screen: angry birds catapult in Hollywood

With 50 million downloads of the app and David Cameron among drug users, it was just a matter of time before the idea of birds in anger: The Movie has raised hopes of turnover of cash registers in Hollywood.

This weekend, Rovio, the home of digital production based on the Finland which launched the game in 2009, is the celebration of its success to poaching David Maisel, who has already converted to characters from Marvel Comics such as Iron Man and Thor film hit.

The brains behind angry birds have not been slow to capitalize on the popularity bizarre frankly disturbing game, which involves the Catapult of fat, impotent, Loucheur birds in buildings. There are already Toys Plush Halloween costumes and even an Israeli sketch show which is converted into a peace conference of Arab-Israeli style between birds and pigs. In total, the game notches up to 200 million minutes of play each day. Rovio captured over 43 m £ so far from birds in anger, which will be launched on a platform of Facebook and other consoles later this year.

But a Hollywood film it takes to a new level. Cynical observers might suggest that with private ideas studios, the film "free app" is just the first of a new wave of merchants operating audiences already want to brand. Some of the greatest films of this year so far have been inspired by a Marvel Comics character, a Disney theme park ride and toy cars. Between them, Thor, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and transformers destroyed the opposition.

Steven Hess of digital agency Weapon7, said: "in the past we have seen films became the games, but she now works in the opposite direction.". The popularity of iPhone applications will see a whole new stream of intellectual property from one to the other. The easier cost of entry to create applications is resulting in new opportunities for audiences that never existed before. »

Mikael Hed, Chief Executive of the Rovio, said Mr. Maisel would "help build the strategy of the entertainment business and transition the Rovio in new areas in the business of entertainment".

But big screen appearances can be the kiss of death. Skeptics should look no further than StreetFighter, the game of the 1990s martial arts which captured the imagination of a generation of teenagers. Next comes a terrible Bible with Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, which, instead of building new audiences, announced the beginning of the end.
